The Department of Psychology at Patna Women’s College organised a gender sensitization workshop focusing on physical and mental health across genders. More than 200 students participated in the workshop. The programme began with the Lighting of the Lamp by the dignitaries. The welcome note was delivered by Dr. Farhat Jabin, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology. The first resource person, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, discussed the concept of gender, gender discrimination, its impact on mental health and society, and ways to address these issues. Then, Mr. Adweetoya Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, and Nodal Officer, PM USHA at Patna Women’s College explained to the audience about this initiative and its inherent works and benefits. Then, the second resource person, Mrs. Sarika Singh demonstrated the impact of yoga and other healthy practices on our physical and mental health. The closing speech was delivered by Dr. Mukta Mrinalini, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology. The participants were given some quizzes to do. The programme was moderated by Riya Singh and Shaheen Mumtaaz of M.A. Applied Psychology Sem 4, and Vote of thanks was proposed by Shradha Suman, B.A. Sem 2.
