The Department of Botany at Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) organized a workshop on “Soilless Culture” under the Gender Inclusion and Equity Initiatives of Pradhan Mantri Ucchatar Shiksha Abhiyan for Botany students. The resource persons, Mr. Pintu Kumar, Founder of Agrokisan, and Mr. Rahul Kumar, Founder of Ecoventure, shared valuable insights into Hydroponics and Aeroponics. With growing global concerns over food shortages and limited land availability, soilless culture offers a sustainable solution, requiring minimal space and water while enhancing the productivity of leafy vegetables, fruits, and ornamental plants.
The hands-on training commenced at 10:30 a.m. following a welcome address by Dr. Pinky Prasad, Head of the Department. Approximately 130 participants benefited from the programme. The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Anjana Verma, while Semester VI student Laiba moderated the session and delivered the vote of thanks. The event proved highly informative and inspiring for students interested in adopting soilless cultivation techniques as statups.
