On the occasion of World Breastfeeding Promotion Week 2025, the Department of Home Science in collaboration with Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “Breastfeeding: Facts and Myths” on 5th August 2025. The event was held in B.J. Sullivan Hall to raise awareness about the significance of breastfeeding for women, infant and community. Dr. Supriya, Assistant Professor, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics introduced the Guest for the program. Dr. Zeba Alam Associate Professor, Department of Anatomy, NMCH, Patna highlighted various aspects of facts and myths of breastfeeding. Some common myths discussed
included – breast size has no correlation with milk production and breastfeeding can delay
ovulation but cannot stop pregnancy.The program was organized under the supervision of Dr. Sr. M. Tanisha A.C., Head, Department of Home Science. The Coordinator of program was Dr. Sunita Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science. All the faculty members of Home Science department, Department of Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics along with faculty members of Department of Psychology, English, Political Science and Masters of Social Work were present for the event. Students of Home Science department, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics, Psychology, English, Political Science
and Masters of Social Work were present for the program. Total number of participants present for the program was 175. The program was concluded with Vote of Thanks presented by Dr. Shubham Sinha, Assistant Professor, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. The event was a great success and got an overwhelming response from the students.This event was anchored by Reena Kumari, 3rd semester PG.
