The ECO Task Force of Patna Women’s College enthusiastically observed World Water Day on 24.03.2026 with the objective of spreading awareness about the importance of water conservation and sustainable management of this vital resource.
World Water Day, celebrated annually on 22nd March, highlights the significance of freshwater and advocates for its sustainable use. The theme for this year, “Water and Gender,” emphasizes the crucial relationship between water access and gender equality. It underlines how women and girls are disproportionately affected by water scarcity and the need to ensure their active participation in water management and decision-making processe
To mark the occasion, a poster-making competition was organized, providing a creative platform for students to express their ideas and concerns regarding water conservation and gender inclusivity. A total of 16 groups comprising 48 ECO Task Force members actively participated in the event, showcasing innovative and thought-provoking posters.
The event was successfully conducted with the dedicated efforts of Muskan Bharti and Simran Singh of Semester VI. The competition was judged by Dr. Sumeet Ranjan and Sister Luveena A.C., who appreciated the creativity and awareness reflected in the students’ work.
The winners of the competition were:
• 1st Position: Akanksha Priyadarshi and Group , Sem II
• 2nd Position: Sana Afreen and Group , Sem II
• 3rd Position: Mantasha Shamshi and Group , Sem IV
The entire event was coordinated by Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Secretary ECO Task Force whose guidance ensured the smooth execution of the programme.
