The Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University organized a Guest Lecture on “Pain Relief and Lifestyle Management” on 12 February 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre (MVEIC). The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about pain management and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
The session was delivered by Dr. Abhinav Singh, MBBS, MD (PMR), Physiatrist and Pain Physician, ESIC, Patna, who served as the Resource Person for the programme. The lecture commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Pinky Prasad, Head, Department of Botany, who warmly welcomed the guest speaker and emphasized the relevance of health-awareness programmes for students.
During the lecture, Dr. Abhinav Singh discussed lifestyle-related health problems, common causes of acute and chronic pain, and effective pain management strategies. He highlighted the role of balanced nutrition, regular physical exercise, correct posture, stress management, and mental well-being in preventing pain and lifestyle disorders. The lecture was highly informative and encouraged students to make positive lifestyle changes.
The programme witnessed the participation of approximately 200 students and faculty members.
Dr. Urvashi Sinha, Dr. Hena Naz, and Dr. Anjana Verma were present during the programme, adding academic value to the event. The entire programme was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Piyush Kumar Rai, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany.
The session was smoothly moderated by Ms. Arsa Siddique, ensuring effective interaction between the resource person and the audience. An interactive question–answer session followed the lecture, where students actively participated and received practical guidance on their health-related queries.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Palak, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, faculty members, organizers, and participants for their support and cooperation.
The guest lecture proved to be highly beneficial and enriching for the participants. The Department of Botany reiterated its commitment to organizing more such academic and health-awareness programmes in the future.
